Interview with Jan Jochens (CEO Waldbike)

The young e-bike brand Waldbike around its founders Jan Jochens and Andreas Weeber is just taking off and has been on the road with a Smartfit sizing service since its start. In the interview with Björn (CEO Smartfit) and Adrian (Sales & Customer Success), Jan gives us an insight into the benefits of providing advice, the success of his brand and why they have been focusing on ergonomics and sizing with Smartfit since the beginning.

What is special for you, for Waldbike? What makes you stand out?

We have written the attributes 'regionality' and 'sustainability' above everything else [...]. We have set ourselves the focus of simply building modern, high-quality, smart everyday bikes for the family. Simply down-to-earth, not performance-oriented, but down-to-earth.

What prompted you to contact us?

We gave a lot of thought to how we could generate a great riding experience for our customers. [...] If I give a potential customer the opportunity to sit in the right saddle height and on the right frame size during the test ride, that's a completely different experience.

Extremely important, that's a core element for me. I manage to raise both a sales professional and a beginner in the discipline of cycling to an extremely high level of advice. I really have a guided process. I have all the manufacturers' geometry data in my system. I can really advise at a high level and have a consistent and fast process. Above all, it doesn't take long - that's the beauty at the end of the day.
